Chapter 9: Marketing Through Other People's Ezines
Idea 71: Swapping Ads Redux
In a previous article (Idea 41: Swapping Ads), I suggested that you could gain subscribers for your own ezine, by swapping ads with another ezine owner, and promoting each other's ezines to each other's subscribers.
But you don't need to stop at that. You needn't limit yourself to swapping ads of the same type.
For example:
- If you don't have your own ezine, you could agree to promote somebody else's in return for them promoting your web site.
- You could swap ads in somebody else's ezine, for text or banner adverts on your site.
- You could swap a free copy of your product or service, for free ads in an ezine.
- ...etc...
As usual, I'd recommend that you use a tracking link (Click/Counter Tracker , AdTrackZ or DynaTracker) for these types of ads, that way you'll get an idea if the ad was successful, how many people clicked, and whether it's worth doing again.
