Chapter 5: Leveraging Your Visitors
Idea 29: Post Cards, Greeting Cards and eCards
We have already described (Idea 28: Tell-A-Friend) how you can use Tell-A-Friend forms to get people to ask their friends to visit your site. And, we've even suggested that you could use a Tell-A-Friend forms as the basis for simple Post Cards.
Of course, most people sending Post Cards (or Greeting Cards or other types of eCards) will probably want to include their own message in the card (etc.) - and Tell-A-Friend forms don't generally do that. However, the good news is that you can also get scripts which are specifically designed for sending Post Cards with messages.
Related Resources:
- ASP eCards Scripts

- CGI eCards Scripts

- PHP eCards Scripts

- Remotely Hosted eCards Services
Remotely hosted eCards services. These may be a good choice if your host does not support ASP, CGI or PHP.
- Bravenet
Bravenet provides a range of remotely-hosted webmaster tools (running on their server so you don't need a web host that supports CGI or PHP scripting). While the tools are good, a potential downside is that some of them require visitors leave your site to access them.
