Chapter 11: Getting Other Webmasters To Promote Your Site
Idea 93: Offering Follow-Up Autoresponders
We've already discussed using Follow-Up Autoresponders (see Idea 37: Follow-Up Autoresponders) to promote your business...
Well, there are lots of other webmasters that want the same thing too.
So, you could offer these webmasters autoresponders hosted on your site, (in other words, your site would be offering a similar service to that which AWeber offers their customers) either for free or for a fee.
How could you benefit?
- If you're renting out access to your autoresponder service, you'll hopefully get some money...
- You could get a steady stream of regular visitors to your site - as the users of these autoresponders will need to visit to log-in, manage their autoresponders.
- You could add your advert (maybe like a brief footnote) to every autoresponder message sent through your system. This idea would probably work better if you're giving away free autoresponders, because I rather doubt that your paying customers would like it.
One final point: if you intend to host an autoresponder service for others on your web site, be sure to discuss it with your web host:
- Your hosting account may not be up to job, you might even need to find another web host.
- What happens if one of your users abuses your service to send out spam? How will your host handle it? Will your account be terminated?
