Idea 6: International Pay Per Click Search Engines
Many people have a blindspot about visitors to their web site that come from other countries.
While you might not want to spend your money advertising in countries which don't share the same language as you, think about this:
- If you have a content web site supported by advertising or affiliate programs, chances are that visitors from the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are all valuable.
- If you are a merchant and can sell internationally, why don't you? This is particularly true if you sell products/services delivered over the Internet, such as eBooks.
- US-based Pay Per Click Search Engines might more visitors available, but on the other hand, they may also have more advertisers (meaning more competition and higher bids for you).
Of course, I'm not going to urge you to advertise internationally if you think it inappropriate for your business, or without you first doing due diligence on any search engine.
One final comment: Overture has developed an excellent stable of International versions of their site.I'd recommend that you start your research there.
